Ocasio-Cortez Slapped With Fine For Bad Behavior

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has only been a congresswoman for one week, and already she is screwing up majorly. Now, we have learned that she’s been slapped with a fine for her bad behavior. What an embarrassment this woman is.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is having a very bad week. It all started over the weekend, when she was bested in a Twitter debate with Republican Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana. Scalise was debating tax policy with the Socialist congresswoman on Saturday when two of her supporters tweeted, “snipe his ass,” and, “kick his cane.”

“Hi @AOC. Happy to continue this debate on the Floor of the People’s House, but it’s clearly not productive to engage here with some of your radical followers. #StayClassy,” Rep. Scalise tweeted in response.

Of course, if Ocasio-Cortez and her radical supporters had anything of substance to add to the debate, they wouldn’t have to resort to making threats. But, this is a favorite page from the Democratic playbook. When they’ve been bested in a debate, you can count on the fact that they will scream “racism” or other names in order to destroy the credibility of their opponent.

As if this weren’t bad enough, there was only more embarrassment in store for Ocasio-Cortez as the week unfolded. Following President Donald Trump’s Tuesday night address from the Oval Office, the newly sworn-in congresswoman went on television to trash his stance on border security. She was promptly humiliated, however, after a little fact from her past was exposed.

Ocasio-Cortez sat down with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and demanded that Trump explain why American taxpayers are still funding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which she accused of committing “human rights” abuses. What she failed to mention, however, was the fact that she had voted to continue funding ICE just one week earlier.

That leads us to today. With the week finally coming to a close, Ocasio-Cortez managed one last mistake. According to The Daily Caller, her congressional campaign has now been fined by the state of New York for failing to provide the proper workers’ compensation coverage to campaign staffers.

“The employer did not have the required workers’ compensation coverage from March 31, 2018 to April 30, 2018,” explained Melissa Stewart, the spokeswoman for New York’s Workers Compensation Board. “[It] was issued a final penalty of $1,500, which was paid. This coverage is vital to ensuring workers are protected for on-the-job injuries.”

This, of course, is quite problematic for Ocasio-Cortez, who has been portraying herself as a champion for workers’ rights. During her campaign, she advocated for a $15-an-hour minimum wage and a Federal Jobs Guarantee because according to her website, “anyone who is willing and able to work shouldn’t struggle to find employment.”

One Democratic campaign veteran scoffed that “it’s not a great look” for Ocasio-Cortez that her campaign received a fine for not carrying workers’ compensation coverage. “This is basic stuff, especially if you hold yourself out to be the champion of workers,” said the source, as reported by Daily News.

“Hypocrisy at its finest,” remarked state GOP spokeswoman Jessica Proud. “The so-called champion of workers, when given her own responsibility, is not following the law. It’s unbelievable.”

Indeed, it seems that wherever Ocasio-Cortez goes, the hypocrisy is sure to be found. She accuses ICE of committing “human rights” abuses, yet she votes to fund ICE. She portrays herself as a champion for workers’ rights, yet does not even carry the basic workers’ compensation coverage so that her own campaign workers will be protected. She’s a real piece of work.

Still, however, the mainstream media loves her, trotting her out on television on a daily basis to discuss topics she clearly does not understand. It is truly mind-boggling that this woman is a United States lawmaker.
